Texata Farms

Texata Farms is a family-owned horse breeding and retirement facility located on 28 acres in Versailles, Kentucky. Owned and operated by Russell and Krista Lea, who bring decades of combined experience in racing, showing, and training, the farm provides a dedicated and professional environment for horses in their "golden years." Specializing in retirement and layup boarding, the facility offers full-care services that include individualized nutrition using McCauley's feed, routine farrier care, and specialized medical support for recovering horses. The farm is also a resident and seasonal broodmare facility, featuring large 12x16 foaling stalls equipped with cameras and the Foalert system, with veterinary services provided by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. As a working farm committed to conservation, Texata Farms often partners with the University of Kentucky for educational field days, showcasing sustainable agricultural practices. With a focus on providing a peaceful, small-herd environment, Texata Farms treats every horse and client as a member of their own family.
