Equestrian Connection is a premier 501(c)(3) nonprofit therapeutic equestrian center located in Lake Forest, Illinois, dedicated to improving the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of children and adults with special needs. Co-founded in 2001 by Diana Schnell, the facility has grown into a state-of-the-art 26,000-square-foot therapy barn featuring individual therapy rooms, an outdoor arena, and multiple trails. The center offers over 17 diverse programs, including hippotherapy, therapeutic riding, equine-facilitated psychotherapy, and specialized services for combat veterans. Beyond equine-assisted services, the center provides art therapy, massage therapy, job training, and life skills development at the Rice House and Foglia House. Led by a professional team of clinically licensed occupational and physical therapists, social workers, and PATH-certified instructors, Equestrian Connection serves thousands of clients annually from across Illinois and Wisconsin.
