The Goucher College Stables, located on the Towson campus in Maryland, are part of a premier collegiate equestrian facility with a history dating back to the 1920s. The current complex began development in 1958 with the construction of the Main Barn, a cinderblock and redwood structure funded by trustee Ethel Haebler that won an architectural award of merit. Over the decades, the facility expanded to include the Pony Barn in 1977, the Boarder Barn in 1985, and a 100x175-foot indoor riding arena built in 1993 and extended in 2022. Today, the equestrian center features two full-care barns, ten turnout paddocks, indoor and outdoor riding rings, rolling riding fields, and miles of trails. Supporting the Goucher College varsity equestrian team and physical education programs, the stables provide a professional environment for horse boarding, training, and intercollegiate competition.
